Surgeons’ assn holds first meet

 The Association of Surgeons of India (Jalandhar chapter) organised its first meeting here on Wednesday. Dr Kamal Gupta (Karan Hospital) was elected president of the association, while Dr Jasmeet Singh Ahluwalia (Star Hospital) secretary and Dr Bikramjit Singh (Sacred Heart Hospital) was elected treasurer of the association.

Dr TD Yadav gave a talk on complications arising from gall bladder surgery and its management. The meeting was attended by surgeons from Jalandhar and surrounding areas such as Phagwara, Kartarpur, Nakodar and Hoshiarpur. Later, doctors were seen singing to the tunes of old Hindi songs. They enjoyed the evening taking out time from their busy schedule.

Dr Jasmeet Singh said the association in its monthly meeting would discuss latest techniques in the field of surgery.
